The Ambassadors of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka pay tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee

The Hague: The Ambassadors of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to the Netherlands paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee at a digital event hosted here. This information was given in an official statement on Saturday. Please say Mukherjee passed away on Monday evening, he was 84 years old.

The statement said the tribute meeting was jointly hosted by Bangladesh and the Indian Embassy here on Friday.

Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands Venu Rajamani, Bangladeshi Ambassador Riaz Hamidullah and Sri Lankan Ambassador Sumit Nakandala spoke at the tribute meeting, according to a statement released by the Indian Embassy.

Former Deputy Mayor of The Hague Municipality Robin S. Baldev Singh also attended the event and he also addressed the meeting.

The statement said that the speakers remember and appreciate Mukherjee’s immense contribution to humanity, justice, democracy and South Asian cooperation.

The statement said that Sheikh Mohammed Belal, managing director of the “Common Fund for Commodities” and former Bangladeshi Ambassador to the Netherlands, also paid tribute to Mukherjee.
