Texas’ Most Wanted Fugitive Nabbed in Dallas

AUSTIN – The No. 1 Most Wanted Fugitive on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List has been apprehended after being arrested on March 23 in Dallas. There will be no Crime Stoppers reward.

Royneco Tiun Harris, 42, of Dallas, was arrested.

Royneco Tiun Harris, 42, of Dallas, is a member of the gang 65 Groveside. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Special Agents assigned to the North Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center apprehended him in Dallas. Members of the Texas Highway Patrol, the Dallas Police Department, and the U.S. Harris was apprehended with the assistance of the Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.

Harris was wanted since October 20, 2021. During his trial for fatally shooting a man and injuring the victim’s kid in 2019, Harris removed his GPS monitoring device and fled. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office issued arrest warrants for him. Harris’ trial was resumed in his absence, and he was found guilty and sentenced to 99 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison.

Harris has a history of weapons offences and was arrested in 2011 for violating his probation on federal charges. He was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in 2015 and 2018. Harris was placed to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List on Feb. 17, 2022. View his captured bulletin for additional information.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is financed by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Commission, gives cash prizes to any anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives or Sex Offenders. So far in 2022, DPS and other agencies have arrested 15 people off the lists, including five gang members and nine sex offenders. Furthermore, $32,500 in incentives has been awarded for tips that resulted in arrests.

DPS investigators collaborate with local law enforcement to identify fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders Lists. The most recent lists — complete with images — may be seen on the DPS website.

Do not make any attempts to catch these fugitives; they are armed and dangerous.
