COUNTY OF HIDALGO, TEXAS (TCD) — A 21-year-old lady was detained lately on suspicion of deliberately colliding with and murdering her boyfriend with her automobile.
According to a press statement from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to the 1700 block of Clay Drive on March 19 at approximately 8:44 a.m. for a report of a car accident. Authorities reportedly discovered 24-year-old Erick Sanchez at the scene, who had been struck and killed by Briana Lisset Soria in a black Chevrolet Camaro.
Soria and the victim were allegedly involved in a relationship. According to the Brownsville Herald, Soria struck Sanchez after she accused him of cheating on her with a woman named Maritza Valdez. Soria reportedly told officials that she and Sanchez confronted Valdez at her home. Then, according to reports, she got into a violent struggle with Valdez.
According to the Brownsville Herald, Soria returned to her car following the altercation and instructed Sanchez to enter. He is said to have rejected and walked away. That is when Soria accelerated the Camaro toward Sanchez, according to reports.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Soria was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Her bond was put at $1 million, according to reports.
