Stimulus Checks: Currently, 73,000 Checks Worth Up to $1,200 Are Being Distributed.
Tens of thousands of checks are distributed to California residents as part of the Golden State I and Golden State II stimulus programs. This is the most recent shipment.
The programs began in 2021 in the state of California. To date, approximately 13 million checks totaling $9 billion have been sent. The checks are worth between $1,100 and $1,200.
To qualify for stimulus funds, you must be a United States citizen.
If your income in 2020 was less than $75,000 and you paid your taxes by Oct. 15, 2021, you qualify.
This batch contains 22,400 Golden State Stimulus I checks and 50,400 Golden State II checks, according to The Sun.
The majority of checks are issued to non-residents who have submitted updated tax returns.
This batch was released on April 22. Direct deposits appear within a few days, whereas paper checks can take up to three weeks to arrive.

A new batch will be distributed next month. This batch will almost certainly be significantly smaller. Numerous these are reissues as a result of address changes or misspellings.
