Benefits are distributed on the same schedule for Social Security and SSDI recipients. The date on which you will receive your check is determined by your birthday:

  • Between the ages of 1 and 10, payments are made on the second Wednesday of each month;
  • between the ages of 11 and 20, payments are made on the third Wednesday of each month.
  • 21st-31st: monthly payments are made on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
  • These dates fall on May 11, May 18, and May 25 this month.

Schedule of SSI benefits

SSI benefits will not be distributed in May. Payments have been delayed. Normally, benefits are distributed on May 1, but this year, it fell on a Sunday.

When a month’s first week falls on a weekend, benefits are issued on the preceding Friday. As a result, the May benefit was distributed on April 29.
