Musk Said Putin’s Successor is “Unlikely” to Be “Amenable to Peace” With Ukraine

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc. TSLA, thinks it would be a “mistake” to think that Vladimir Putin’s successor would be a “good guy.”

What Happened: In response to a Tweet on Friday about what would happen if Putin died or was kicked out of office before the end of the war, Musk said that Putin’s successor would not be “willing to make peace.”

Because the Kremlin isn’t the Nice Guy Olympics, people who want Putin out are wrongly assuming that his replacement will be more open to peace and western ideas.

Putin may have had Parkinson’s disease, or cancer, or even survived an assassination attempt more than once in the past.

The Russian government has always denied information and laughed off rumors about the health of the president.

But what happens if Putin dies or quits before the end of his term? Then, if the Federation Council doesn’t set up new presidential elections within 14 days, the Central Election Commission will do it.

In the meantime, the Russian prime minister, Mikhail Mishustin, will take over as president.
