Missing Stimulus Check: Here’s How You Can Make Sure You Get Your Unclaimed Money

If you were eligible for the third stimulus check but never received it, it’s not too late. The EIP, or economic stimulus payment, was worth $1,400 for single taxpayers earning up to $75,000 and $2,800 for married couples filing joint tax returns and earning up to $150,000. Each dependent who qualifies would receive an additional $1,400.

You may be eligible for a partial payment if you earn less than $80,000 for singles and $160,000 for married couples filing jointly.

You still have a chance to get a stimulus check that hasn’t been claimed!

If you didn’t receive the payments when they were supposed to start in March 2021, you can use the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2021 tax return to recover them now. If you only received a partial payment but believe you are entitled to more, you can also apply for credit.

Because the stimulus payments were based on data the IRS already had on you, it’s possible that you were eligible but the IRS was unaware of it. If you earned less in 2021 than you declared on previous tax forms, you may now be eligible.

The same thing would happen if you had a new baby who hadn’t yet been reported to the IRS. According to NJ.com, even if you don’t generally have to file a tax return, the IRS advises that doing so for 2021 is the only way to ensure that you get your stimulus payout.

Here’s some more fantastic news!

I have some exciting news to share. Senator Mitt Romney, according to Unica News, is lobbying to reinstate monthly stimulus payments, also known as Child Tax Credits. If passed, Sen. Romney’s proposal will be included in the 2021 stimulus package. The Family Security Act is what it’s called.

Under the proposed Family Security Act, parents or families would receive monthly payments of $350 for children under the age of five and $250 for children aged six to seventeen.

In addition, the proposed Family Security Act will provide financial assistance to expectant parents. Senator Romney’s plan, in this light, aims to offer them a tax credit or monthly payments for four months before childbirth.
