Previously, Jaishankar held separate bilateral talks here with his counterparts from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to discuss ways to strengthen India’s strategic partnership with these two Central Asian countries.

On the same day, September 8, the Indian Foreign Minister met Iranian Foreign Minister Javed Zarif in Tehran. Foreign Minister Jaishankar himself gave this information on Twitter. He wrote: “I had a wonderful meeting with Iranian Minister Javed Zarif while in Tehran. During this time, we discussed strengthening our bilateral cooperation and also discussed regional development. Thanks for the great hospitality.

After Jaishankar, Javed Zarif also mentioned this meeting on his Twitter. He wrote on Twitter: “I had a conversation with the Indian Foreign Minister in Tehran. In this meeting, we discussed bilateral relations and trade expansion. Apart from that, we also exchanged views on many important regional issues. Our active involvement with our neighbor is our top priority. Rajnath Singh first visited Russia and Tehran amid tensions between China and then the foreign minister. Of course, these interactions can have many meanings.
