The federal government is no longer distributing stimulus funds, but some states will send residents a fourth stimulus check in 2022. According to Marca, four states are currently preparing additional stimulus payments that could benefit 87 million residents in total, although not everyone may be eligible.
New York City
The Excluded Workers Fund, a $2 billion stimulus fund, has been approved to assist undocumented workers who were unable to receive previous federal stimulus checks. According to Marca, money has been distributed to those in this category who earned less than $26,208 in 2020. In 2022, this program will be expanded.
Indiana residents may be eligible for additional funds in 2022. According to Marca, the Indiana state government posted a large surplus last year, and the government intends to issue a tax refund of approximately $125.
KTLA reported that California Governor Gavin Newsom proposed a $286 billion budget for the 2022 fiscal year. While the budget does not include another round of Golden State Stimulus checks, there is the possibility of additional tax rebates this year as the state decides how to use its budget surplus.
According to Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida teachers may receive a stimulus payment of up to $1,000 in 2019. This payment will be distributed to approximately 177,000 teachers and principals in Florida. Governor DeSantis is also allocating $600 million to increase minimum teacher salaries from $40,000 to $47,500.
