In Texas, a Man Has Been Sentenced in Connection With the Murders of Two Women and a Spate of Rapes.

Prosecutors say a man who pleaded guilty to killing two women and committed a spate of rapes in Texas was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release.

Reginald Kimbro, 28, pleaded guilty Friday in Fort Worth to two charges of capital murder in the rape and strangulation deaths of two women. Kimbro was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in each case. He also pled guilty to raping four additional women on Friday, according to the Tarrant County district attorney’s office.

His jury trial was scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

“He utilised his personality and charm to entice women, and when that didn’t work, he poisoned them,” Assistant Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney Allenna Bangs stated in a press release.

Molly Jane Matheson, 22, was one of Kimbro’s victims, and her body was discovered the next day at her Fort Worth home, according to authorities.

Prosecutors claimed Kimbro, who dated Matheson when they were both students at the University of Arkansas, was linked to the crime through evidence such as DNA and cellphone records.

Prosecutors claim that on April 14, 2017, while police were investigating Kimbro, he raped and strangled 36-year-old Megan Getrum, a stranger to him, as she was hiking through a nature preserve near her home in the Dallas suburb of Plano. Getrum’s body was discovered in a Dallas-area lake several days later.
