After Nearly 4 Years, a Man’s Remains Were Discovered in His Kitchen!


This week, a guy in Texas was detained after police discovered the “skeletal remains of a male” in his home. Police believe the remains are those of the 67-year-old man’s son.

The suspect has been identified as David McMichael and charged with the abuse of a corpse. Local law enforcement officers responded to McMichael’s residence following a welfare check request, according to a press release from the New Boston Police Department.

They saw McMichael at the location, who informed them that he had a body “in his kitchen.” Additionally, he informed officers that the body was his son’s, who died in May 2018.

Police stated that they then entered McMichael’s residence and discovered the remains. McMichael was “brought into jail without incident” shortly afterward. Further inspection of the remains revealed that the deceased was a guy, “perhaps Jason McMichael,” with the Texarkana Crime Scene unit also on scene. The team at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas will conduct additional identity-verification processes.

McMichael was put into the Bi-State Detention Center on Wednesday, according to authorities. According to online jail records, McMichael is listed as having a $50,000 surety bond. He has been charged formally with the abuse of a corpse without legal authorization.
