A $1,250 Stimulus Check Is Available to Eligible Families

Last year, the CTC Stimulus Check was expanded, resulting in monthly payments of up to $300 for qualifying families.

However, it was not extended until 2022, which means that many people who are struggling financially have been without a Stimulus Check since December. This may change in the near future, however, as a new law is being written.

Stimulus Check

Republican Senator Mitt Romney of Utah introduced the Family Security Act (FSA), which is similar to the Child Tax Credit but provides additional funding. Families will receive $350 per month for each child under the age of six, as well as a $250 stimulus check for each child aged six to seventeen. The maximum monthly stipend per household is $1,250.

Determine Your Eligibility For The New Stimulus Check

Every family with one tax filer earning less than $200K and every household with two tax filers earning less than $400K will be eligible for the full benefit. It will be allocated to those who earn more, but for every $1,000 earned above certain thresholds, it will be reduced by $50.

The stimulus check proposal, unlike the CTC, has a catch: claimants must volunteer, train, or work for at least 80 hours per month, which is likely why it hasn’t been made public yet. While both parties agree that helping families is important, the addition of a job requirement is a contentious issue that is currently being resolved.

Nonetheless, given the White House’s emphasis on preserving the Federal Child Tax Credit for “years and years to come,” this may be a reasonable compromise.

Households, including those without children, may be able to resume receiving monthly payments if a solution is found quickly. The concept allows parents to qualify for welfare benefits up to four months before their baby’s due date.
